Life of Dallas
Dallas Randall Gray, Jr, Fort Walton Beach, Florida
Dallas loved life, God, family and friends. He was a lifelong resident of the Emerald Coast, living and loving the beach lifestyle. He excelled in school and attended Mary Esther Elementary, Max Bruner Junior High School, Fort Walton Beach High School and finally graduated from Choctawhatchee High School with the Class of 1993. Dallas was popular and strikingly handsome. He always had a friendly smile for everyone that lit up his 6 ft, 3 inch frame. He was a great sportsman and enjoyed many school and community organized sports. He excelled on the football field with both the Fort Walton Beach Vikings and Choctawhatchee Indians. He earned a full academic scholarship to Florida State University, but soon was unable to continue his education due to health problems. His adult life included family, love, laughs, beautiful smiles, hopes and dreams, but also disappointment and pain. He lived life very simply, but the issues he faced were complicated and challenged him daily. In the last few years of his life he was excited about his faith in God and was walking daily down that gentle road. Near the end of his life he seemed to draw very close to God and find comfort and peace in that place. He was a wonderful and precious son and grandson, caring big brother, beautiful nephew & cousin, and friend to many. We all miss him dearly. Dallas now lives in our hearts. His shortened, but meaningful life now shapes how we live ours.
